Warrior Preachers
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Ephesians 6:11
The “schemes of the devil” require every believer to “to take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm” (Eph. 6:13). Yet sadly, many pastors are unwilling to have a warrior’s mindset and bring truth to bear in the kingdom of darkness. Some will say, “I don’t want to talk about politics in the pulpit; it’s too divisive.” To which I respond, “Then you should resign. The church doesn’t need another man-pleaser; it needs pastor-teachers committed to equipping, edifying, and maturing the saints in Christ (Eph. 4:11-16).
Because of this kind of spiritual cowardice, most Christians are completely ignorant of Satan’s devices being thrust upon them through the political machinations in culture. In their utter lack of biblical discernment, they even elect politicians dedicated to advancing agendas that are an abomination to God—an evil so severe that it calls into question the genuineness of the faith of those who vote for these people. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Prov. 9:10); they do not have the latter because they lack the former. And without faithful and bold warrior preachers, they simply cannot see how the enemy uses politics to eradicate biblical theology and damn the souls of men and women to the eternal torments of hell. As a result, countless professing evangelicals along with unbelievers are hopelessly adrift in a bewildering sea of deception, like “children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming” (Eph. 4:14).
Because of the scarcity of faithful pastors, many Christians fail to see how liberal political ideologies are a part of the socialist scheme to not only divide the country between the oppressed and the oppressor, but also condition its citizens to believe the most absurd ideologies and thus become mindless automatons of the state—the transgender ideology being a case in point. This kind of social engineering and indoctrination, combined with the deconstruction of all societal norms and values—especially biblical Christianity—is foundational to totalitarianism. Sexual perverts of all stripes, especially trans activists, are the useful idiots being used by liberal elites to help them achieve their tyrannical utopia.
Having the mind of Christ, however, causes authentic Christians to see the world clearly because of the illuminating power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. It causes us to be appalled at our neo-Marxist, deceptive “woke” culture that uses every means available to force everyone to embrace their racist agendas, moral perversions, and biological absurdities. These are the times that cry out for bold men and women of God to take a stand and say, “Thus says the Lord!” Those who wander in darkness are in desperate need of the light of truth to deliver them from the blinding fog of evil enveloping our land. We especially need warrior preachers to join the fight, men who place no value in gimmicks and theatrics; men with no desire to draw attention to themselves through the cultural accoutrements of wardrobe, hairstyles, or any other trendy look the godless world applauds. We need men whose pulpit demeanor is one of solemnity, profundity, and dignity, a natural manifestation of the unrestricted rule of the Spirit of God in their heart.
Men who will preach the word! May we all pray to these ends.
